Seattle, which was founded in 1851 and incorporated in 1869, is located on the North West side of the state, North of Tacoma. It has an estimated population of 516, 259 people and an approximate size of 83.9 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, trade, manufacturing and government. It is home to the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific university and Seattle University.
