Salt Lake City, which was founded in 1847 and incorporated in 1851, is located North of Provo. It has an estimated population of 159, 936 people and an approximate size of 109 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, trade and government. It is home to the University of Utah, Westminster College and Salt Lake Community College.
