Provo, which was founded in 1849 and incorporated in 1851, is located in the center of the state, South of Salt Lake City. It has an estimated population of 86, 835 people and an approximate size of 38.6 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, construction and trade. It is home to Brigham Young University and Utah Technical College.
