Fort Worth, which was founded in 1849 and incorporated in 1873, is located North of Austin in the center of the state. It has an estimated population of 447, 619 people and an approximate size of 240 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, wholesale and retail trade and manufacturing. It is home to the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyen University.
