Scranton, which was established in 1786 and incorporated in 1866, is located on the north east side of Pennsylvania. It has an estimated population of 81, 805 people and an approximate size of 25.2 square miles. Its’ economy is mainly made up of services, manufacturing and retail trade. It is home to the International Correspondence School and the University of Scranton.
