Eugene, which was founded in 1846 and incorporated in 1864, is located on the West side of the state, South of Salem. It has an estimated population of 112, 669 people and an approximate size of 38 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, trade, government and agriculture. It is home to the University of Oregon, Lane Community College, North West Christian College and Eugene Bible School.
