Welcome... to Jamesville New York! Jamesville is located in the Town of Dewitt, east of the Town of Onondaga, and west of the Town of Manlius. The main routes of travel are State Routes 92, 173 and 481. The name is said to have come from Brigadier General James Clinton, who had a strong share of land holdings and a large control of the waters from Butternut Creek. One area of unique beauty is Green Lake, which is situated in Clark Reservation, a State Park. The lake is sunk deep into the limestone walls of Butternut Valley, and is a source of many treasures for geologists and nature lovers alike. While visiting Jamesville, be sure to see Dunlops Falls, and the Spillway from the millpond of Lanark Mills, which are just two of the beautiful sites in Jamesville. |
