Welcome...to Reno Nevada!

Reno, which was founded in 1868 and incorporated in 1903, is located on the North East corner of the state. It has an estimated population of 133, 850 people and an approximate size of 57.5 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of tourism, gaming, manufacturing and transportation. It is home to the University of Nevada at Reno and the Truckee Meadows Community College.

In 1859, Charles Fuller built a log bridge across the Truckee River (where Reno is located today) and charged a small fee to anyone who crossed it. He also built a log inn where travelers could rest. This place was known as Fuller's Crossing. The Town of Reno was not laid out and town lots auctioned off until May 9, 1868.
