Omaha, which was founded in 1854 and incorporated in 1857, is located on the East edge of the state, North East of Lincoln. It has an estimated population of 335, 795 people and an approximate size of 100.7 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of services, wholesale and retail trade, government and manufacturing. It is home to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
