Lincoln, which was founded in 1861 and incorporated in 1869, is located on the South East side of the state, South of Omaha. It has an estimated population of 191, 972 people and an approximate size of 63.3 square miles. The economy is primarily made up of government, services, wholesale and retail trade and manufacturing. It is home to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
