Michigan, which is
known as the Wolverine State and the Great Lakes State, was admitted
into the Union on January 26, 1837. The State Capitol is Lansing.
Other major cities include Grand Rapids, Detroit and Ann Arbor.
According to the latest census, Michigan has an estimated population
of 9,938,444 people and an approximate size of 96,810 square
miles. The economy is primarily made up of manufacturing, trade,
finance, insurance, real estate and services. The State Flower
is the Apple Spice and the State Bird is the Robin. Si Quari
Peninsulam Amoeman (which means if you seek a pleasant peninsula,
look about you) is the State motto.
