New Haven, which was established in 1635 and chartered in 1784, is located northeast of Bridgeport. It has an estimated population of 130, 474 people and an approximate size of 18.9 square miles. It is known for its’ services, manufacturing and trade. It is also home to Yale University, University of New Haven, Albertus Magnus College, Southern Connecticut State University-Quinnipiac College and the Greater New Haven State Technical College.
