the Union on January 9, 1788. Its Capitol City is Hartford.
Other major Cities are Bridgeport, Danbury, New Haven, Stamford
and Waterbury. According to the latest census, an estimated population
for the State of Connecticut is 3,405,565 people, and an approximate
size of 5,544 square miles.

which is known for its manufacturing, retail trade, government
and services was nicknamed The Constitution State and The Nutmeg
State. The State Flower is the Mountain Laurel and its State
Bird is the American Robin. Qui Transtulit
Sustinet (which means he who transplanted
still sustains) is the States motto.
