California, which
is known as the Golden State, was admitted into the Union on September
9, 1850. The State Capitol is Sacramento. Other major cities include
Anaheim, Fresno, Los Angeles, Oakland, Riverside, San Diego, San
Francisco, San Jose and Santa Ana. According to the latest census,
California has an estimated population of 33,871,648 people
and an approximate size of 163,707 square miles. The economy
is primarily made up of services, manufacturing, trade, finance,
agriculture, insurance and real estate. The State Flower is the
Golden Poppy and the California Valley Quail is the State Bird.
Eureka(which means I have found it) is the State motto.
